Colon Cleansing ???

I suffer from an enlarged belly, minor shortness of breath and fatigue. I was thinking of doing a colon cleansing but I hear too many people advising me not to even think of trying this ( saying it is too dangerous ). What advise on trying this is best? If it is OK, any suggestions on which product(s) are effective and SAFE ???

Re: Colon Cleansing ???

Hi, my gastroenterologist says there is absolutely no need for people to do 'colon cleanses' as they do not achieve anything beneficial and the harsh ingredients used such as clays, can wipe out the healthy bacteria in the gut. Worse case scenario, they may even damage the gastric mucosa.

Unless you are constipated, your colon will be 'clean', as a normal healthy bowel does not have old faeces stuck to the walls, contrary to what the ads for colon cleanse products say.

If you are constipated, then there are better ways of resolving it other than colon
cleanse.

Fatigue and bloated stomach are often symptoms of food intolerance, particularly of gluten products. It may be worth looking at your diet...
