Your symptoms are very similar to mine. My pain starts in middle of chest under ribcage and radiates to left side. May come on suddenly or slowly but last approx 8-10 hrs of excrutiating pain. Nothing seems to relieve it, gasX, tums, sometimes a little room temperature water with some baking soda (helps you burp out gas and neutralize acids). It has come to a point that nothing works...?? right? Then I would put raw rice inside a pillow case and heat it up in the microwave till very hot and apply directly to pain to relieve a little and feel another type of pain instead.
Well, I am having my gallbladder removed next week. Have gone through many tests HIDA w/ejection fraction, stomach emptying, endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasounds. Endo shows errossion/irritation to esophogous, irritation to stomach, fatty tissue along colon, polyps and internal hemorroids. Do you also have severe constipation? (Dr. says I have a lazy stomach and lazy colon...funny)
Lately unable to fully digest food. Everything hurt after eating. Could only have 3-4 bites and felt too full. Sometimes I would throw up a few hours later and it would be yellow like fluid with droplets of oil. (I don't eat fried foods) weird.
Your pain may be also gallbladder related. I didn't think mine was because pain was on left and not right side like most people complain of.
I also have pain when pressing on left side. Dr. said it is where spleen is and behind it is pancreas. He will look at them while removing gallbladder next week because ultrasound could not see pancreas.
Do not go as long as I have with this misery....approx 10 yrs. On and off...ipain kept being more frequent until it was 5 times a wk. NO WAY TO LIVE. I have lost 18lbs in a month and am hungry!
Go to a gastro right away. Good luck and keep up posted on your findings.
