Pain in lower intestinal area after eating
I have been experiencing pain about an inch below my navel after eating for about the last 2-3 months. The pain occurs approx. 1/2 hour - 1 hour after eating. Constant sharp pain, does not appear to be gas, tried taking Pepto Bismal it did nothing. It does not happen after every meal but I may be triggered by certain foods. Recently the pain has been occurring more frequently and I had two attacks which were more painful then I have ever experienced, both were after eating eggs and cheese. I went to a Doctor and he advised it could be a problem digesting eggs as they have a certain protein which is not present in meat. I cut out eggs for the last 4 days, I have not experencied any severe pain but still have some discomfort after some meals.
I believe it is probably related to diet, I drink 0-2 glasses of milk a day and use cheese and goat cheese regularly so possibly could be lactose intolerance but I have no idea as I have never had digestive problems. I recently changed my diet habits as well about 2 months ago, cutting out fast food burgers and most bread/sugar/carbs, I have lost 24 lbs. I only use olive oil to cook, sometimes canola oil. I went on the same diet years earlier though and had no pain. I have had my appendix removed 7 years ago.
Any advise on the pain or information on egg digestion problems would be appreciated thanks!
