Reglan is the same thing, and there is an FDA blackbox warning for it. Chronic use of metoclopramide has been linked to tardive dyskinesia, which may include involuntary and repetitive movements of the body, even after the drugs are no longer taken. I was given this drug in the E.R. when I was there for my gallbladder. I had an allergic reaction, and it just about made me jump out of skin. I would definitely speak to your doctor about it. There are alternative drugs without this risk.
