Increased frequency of bowel movements accompanied by cramping
I am a 38-year-old female who has an EGD/colonoscopy every three years (I have Barrett's esophagus which is genetic on my dad's side and there is strong history of colon cancer on the same side.) I just had an EGD/colonoscopy on May 10th and the colonoscopy showed my colon was free and clear of anything, i.e., polyps. Since then, I have had at least three to five bowel movements daily and right before I have them, I have these bad intestinal cramps which only previously happened on rare occasions when I had diarrhea, i.e., stomach virus. I can't wait more than 30 seconds to go to the toilet or the intestinal cramps get so bad that I pray to die (they are 100x worse than menstrual cramps). My dad has irritable bowel syndrome and he thinks this may be what I'm getting, too. What do you think?
