Gerd, stomach and fundus oplyps, Barrett's esophagus
I had esophageal erosions from GERD 4 years ago and 2011 ERD revealed polyps in stomach body and fundus and mucosa suggestives of Barrett's esophagus. awaiting biopsies
Family history of colon polyps, one with pre-cancerous polyps. How bad is this?
Re: Gerd, stomach and fundus oplyps, Barrett's esophagus
I've had "gastritis" for over 40 years. Dr. did not say she found any erosions but found the polyps and possible Barretts.EVERY family member on my mom's side has had colon polyps and stomach problems..... My 30 year old brother had precancerous polyps removed last year.

hali,
I am sorry about your familie's condition-- it is probably a geneic problem or an immune system aliment since 80% of immune problems are caused by your gastrointestinal system.
Having gastritis for 40 years evidentently has not responded to the doctors treatment that you have been given.
Some people don't respond to proton pump inhibitors or anti-acid medications prior to PPIs.
There are alternatives.
I get gastritis every time I take an antibiotic for 4 or 5 days--- And, PPIs do not work for me either.
In 2002 a MD that treats with alternative mediction gave me Mastica (aka Mastic Gum)--- It just so happened that I had privious scheduled an Endoscope exam to recheck the gastritis-- 2 weeks after beginning the Mastica --- the Gastro doctor found the gastritis was cured.
I took several PPIs for a month with no relief.
I wish you and your family find a cure for your conditions---Harry
BTY-- I found elevating the head of my bed 4 inches helps Acid Reflux.

I do have a host of autoimmune problems including sarcoidosis and fibro. I find gingerale or 7-up (uncarbonated) helps and saltines. Of course the tums are also needed. Thanks for all your input. i appreciate it.
