I have had every test you can think of. I taken nexium everyday. I feel like crap when I eat, doesnt matter what it is and the pain in my upper abdomin. Wanted to know if there is anything I can do? Are pain meds ok (over-the-counter).Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe something I can bring to my doctors attention!!??? My gallbladder was removed in 2008. Any info will be helpful...

The nexium might actually be making it worse, if you have bile reflux and no acid reflux. PPIs can increase bile reflux in some people.

Have you tried ursodeoxycholic acid? That is a recommended treatment for bile reflux in a lot of people.

As for natural remedies, the amino acid L. glutamine can strengthen the stomach lining to reduce the pain. Takes about a month to work.

I really feel for you, I had my gallbladder out 6 months ago, with some digestive issues afterward but they seem to have resolved themselves, so you have my deepest empathy! I was wondering if you had discussed Carafate with your GI? I do not have personal experience with Bile Reflux but I also was under the impression that PPI's will make the situation worse? I hope you get some answers and feel better soon.

I had mine removed in 2008 and it took two years to straighten it out - I still have problems with belching and heartburn. I take welchel for bile absorption and it is good cholesterol - My life has never been the same since I had my gallbladder has been removed. I do watch what I eat but sometimes it doesn't matter and it is like my stomach has a mind of its own. I have been down that road with the testing and they found nothing so I am on prilosac.
