I had an operation 6 years ago and was intubated. I am wondering if this will cause a problem if I have an endoscopy?
Would there be more chance of something going wrong?
I presume I will have some kind of scarring inside the throat/neck. Maybe
Probably would not be a problem. Most of the time, being intubated does NOT cause scarring, and in any case, the scarring wouldn't be in the esophagus.
Just let the person doing the test know about your medical history, especially if you have any heart, lung or circulatory problems, or if you've had bad reactions to any medications.
