Healing the Stomach Lining?

ey guys

I have been diagnosed with Gastritis after I kept taking Nurofen Plus (Ibuprofen/Codeine) everyday for my bad headaches for about 1-2 months. I had no idea I could get this problem from that medication there should be warnings about long term use. Anyway after I went to the doctor complaining of stomach pain, nausea, couldn't eat stuff like that and I told him about the Nurofen Plus he said it was Gastritis which was caused by Nurofen. He had me take 20mg everyday of Nexium for 2-3months and they have been a miracle I can eat and my stomach 90% better, however everymorning my stomach still gets a little sore and I am a little bit sensitive to certain drinks, like energy drinks and alchohol and sometimes coffee.

I cut those out however is are there any natural supplements to take for Gastritis to HEAL the stomach lining? I can't take nexium for the rest of my life.....My gastritis is lasting ages and I hope I can get rid of this thing forever. Any tips would be great

Re: Healing the Stomach Lining?

Ibuprofen caused my stomach ulcers and that was after only two weeks on them.
I had bleeding from my stomach and was told I must never take them again. It doesn't happen to everyone but the instruction leaflet does say it may cause stomach upset. It sounds like you are finding out what does/doesn't suit you food wise. I found Aloe-Vera juice helpful also Domperidone. I had the same problem as you after treatment for H.Pylori.
Probiotics are also good.
Good Luck,

Solofelix.

Re: Healing the Stomach Lining?

I had the same thing happen after using Ibuprofen for pain, and Alleve cold & sinus for sinus problems. My doctor gave me Carafate to heal my stomach. I still have to be very careful with meds., and get indigestion and some reflux from certain foods and drinks, but the Carafate was wonderful. I used the liquid, even though it doesn't taste good. I still use it if I feel problems starting, and it stops them pretty quick. I highly recommend it.

Solofelix.
yeah i live in Australia and all the bottle or packet says;

"Always read the label. Use only as directed. Incorrect use could be harmful. If symptoms persist, see your healthcare professional. Do not give to babies under 3 months old. Seek medical advice for babies less than 12 months of age".

Sooo lame :C is doesn't mention stomach problems after prolonged use. except the incorrect use could be harmful but doesn't state what the 'harmful' means?

Stupid Nurofen grrrrrrr
