Middle aged male with no options left. Each day I battle severe abdominal pain and nausea that is off the scale. I'm 5'9" and my weight has dropped from 145 pounds down to 112 pounds. I basically live on Ensure as solid food is almost impossible to get down. I do take Zofran which helps some with nausea.
I had an EGD done and I show signs of GERD. Irritation seen in stomach lining. I have tried every possible medication for Acid Reflux known to man at double the dosages as prescribed by GI Docs. I just had an MRI for chronic pancreatitis. Results negative. I have seen 3 different GI Docs and have made no headway. One test did show a decreased Gall Bladder function. The words IBS have been brought up.
I have no place to go. My condition is worsening with time and I cannot get any relief with traditional medications. I even tried amitriptyline at the suggestion of a GI Doc to see if that would help to ease the nerve pain. Nothing.
At this time I fear I am being placed into the "you're nuts" category. No options left.
Thanks for letting me post. Not even looking for answers anymore. Just had to let it out...
Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad.
Have you been tested for H.Pylori. IBS can cause Nausea and pain, I have it myself.
Diet is really important with IBS and you can find help with that online.
You may need an Ultra-sound to check your Gallbladder.
Hope you find an answer soon,

Demand more tests. Sometimes you have to be forceful. You're the only one who really knows how you're feeling, so make yourself heard. Have you been scoped from both ends? Had a CT scan to check for inflammation or ulcers? I'm going through some issues myself at the momant and just had to switch to a surgeon 3 hours away to get the quality of care I know I deserve. Even if you have to go to 3 more GI doctors until you find one that won't give up until they get you well, it will be worth it! Hang in there, and we're here for you to vent to and get emotional support from. We understand.
