Stools Always Loose
I have frequent loose stools, pretty much every day for years. I'm 39. I just went on a 24 hour water fast, and stool after fast was not loose and was actually quite firm. I only have what I consider firm stools once every 3 months or so. I ate again yesterday, back to loose stool. By loose I don't mean watery, because when I have watery diarrhea it's quite different. Just very mushy.
I've been tested for parasites, but doctor has no idea. His only recommendation is more 'random' tests, which I can't afford.
Is it possible a small amount of dairy is causing this? I only have a spoon of dairy in my coffee and tea. I guess I should eliminate dairy for awhile and see if that helps.
I don't believe it would be a gluten intolerance, as I think one has to remove that from your diet for quite some time to see the effect.
I don't suffer from abdominal pain or fatigue, so I don't think it would be crohn's disease.
Any advice is appreciated.
