I have severe abdominal pain and chronic constipation.
Testing so far:
CT w/ and w/o contrast
Gastric emptying scan
Small bowel series
After Endoscopy/colonoscopy was told have acid reflux, hiatal heria, Barrett's esophagus, and possibly IBS. No instructions, or diet given. Was told to take a Citrucell/Miralax combo twice a day and Omeprazole.
After gastric emptying was to results were not "normal" and was then given Reglan 5 mg 2 x daily and was told to discontinue Citrucell, continue taking Omeprazole and Miralax.
Still in pain for approx. 2 months at this point, no appetite, and whatever I do eat causes ne even more pain.
Small bowel series ok according to doctor. Have now been perscribed Tagamet 400 mg 2x daily, Vistiril 25 mg 3x daily, continue Reglan and Miralax as perscribed, and discontinue Omeprazole.
I am frustrated by lack of definate diagnosis, still in pain everyday. Was also told no narcotic pain med because it can be dangerous. Where do I go from here?
