I've had ongoing, undiagnosed digestive issues (awful unrelenting D) for over 2.5 years now and my symptoms seem to be ever evolving around it.
My latest oddity involves eating sweets (candy, desserts, ice cream, etc.) and the next day having profuse (4-7), voluminous, foul and SWEET smelling soft/loose/watery BMs. It's as if my body is trying to flush a poison out of me. This sweet smell of mine only began occurring a couple months ago, but it's definitely noticeable after my favorite treats.
Not one of my numerous doctors has ever suspected diabetes from my vast array of symptoms, so I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and figured out what was going on?
I have been sugar-free (until last night - my 'free' Friday night) and the D was baaaaad, waking me up at 5am to sit on the toilet for hours. The point is, since not eating table and added sugars, my stools have overall become slightly less loose, so I know it contributes somehow to my symptoms.
FYI - Otherwise I appear perfectly healthy, after several tests and pokes. Despite the daily D, no dehydration or weight loss, either! Whoo hoo!! I'm an enigma. Also, NO lactose intolerance, and I avoid artificial sweeteners like the plague, except for sorbitol which is in Lomotil! hahaha the humanity!
Also, no gluten in my diet at this point in my life. I eat plenty of fiber, soluble and non. Forgot to mention one more thing - I have been thoroughly tested by my former gastro doc for SIBO two times! Both times I was very negative, very low levels of build up, apparently. Food for thought.
Have a good day, Guys!
