Indigestion and vommiting

Hello,

A couple times a year I will wake up and quickly realize that I have the taste of vomit in my mouth and burp quite often. I can taste whatever I eat throughout the day, and can't seem to relieve myself. Eventually the urge to vomit builds up until I finally do, and then it feels like I empty my whole stomach and then I get the runs with whatever liquids were still in my stomach.

This started happening after I got food poisoning many years ago, a few days later I had popcorn at a late night movies and woke up with this sickness. I've had it happen a few times after a movie, so I thought it was pop corn related. I do seem to have an allergic reaction to salt and vinegar chips and chinese food, now a days I still have popcorn but with no butter and I try to eat it slowly.

I've recently had it happen after a pot-luck type dinner, I tried almost everything and in the end wound up very sick the next day. I didn't recall having anything that seemed to have excessive preservatives or the normal things that make me sick.

I'm not sure why I didn't make the connection before, but I'm starting to think that simply overeating before bed is clogging my digestive system, and I go to sleep before it's cleared up. When I wake up in the morning I guess it might be clogged, and throughout the day it doesn't get any better, and eventually it gets to my throat and I vomit.

Is this common? Am I right that it's just excessive eating too late at night? Is there a name for this? I'm very ignorant about this, I'm in good shape and generally have no allergies or anything.

Thank you.

Re: Indigestion and vommiting

Could be heartburn/acid reflux. Many people experience a bout of it at some point in their lives.

Try this:

Don't eat right before bed, especially not a big meal. Stay away from things that are very high in fat, like movie theatre popcorn. Give your digestive system some time to heal.

Thanks for the advice, I'll look into those and see if I have similar symptoms.
