Stomach Issues & Probiotics
I've had some stomach issues for as long as I can remember. I have never been "regular" - due in large part, I think, to me being afraid to use the bathroom when I was very young. Anyway, in October of last year my problems started to get worse. At least once a week, I would get these awful pains in my stomach. It would be cramping, but also a feeling in my lower ribs like someone was squeezing them. Nausea would accompany those pains occasionally; sometimes, I even have trouble breathing. For usually an hour or so, I'll use the bathroom frequently. My stools are very soft, but not watery. Then usually I get constipated until it happens again. I went to a doctor, and had some scans done, but they all came back clear. My doctor suggested probiotics. I started off with the Phillips Colon Health, and they seemed to help for the first few weeks, but then my problems came back. I switched to the acidophilus pearls and went about a month without one of my "episodes", but it started up again about two weeks ago. I've been on these for 61 days now, taking one pill every morning with breakfast. When browsing comments on Amazon, I saw that some people recommended increasing to one pill at night and one in the morning, but I was wondering if I should do that? If it makes a difference, I'm a female barely over 5' and weigh between 110-115 lbs.
Or is there something else I should be trying? I'm moving soon, and desperately trying to get this under control before then.
