| Does this sound like IBS?
I'm 31 y/o male and I've had a discomfort in my lower right abdominal area on and off for over 3 years. I can't call it pain, but more of a burning sensation or sometimes it almost feels like a bruise. I can almost ignore it but it still bothers me. Sometimes it radiates down to my hip or to my back on the lower right side as well and sometimes it feels very localized to the area where appendix is. It's always on the right side. I've had sporadic dierrhea but most of the time just unformed soft stool. I'm never constipated and go regularly once or twice a day. Never seen blood in stool either. I'm on a good balanced diet and healthy otherwise. I've had normal colonoscopy and abdominal sonogram, kidneys, gallbladder, liver, all look fine and my GI doesn't have many more ideas. I've also read about chronic appendicitis, which seems to be something rare, but at the same time people normally report much stronger pain along with nausea and vomitting, which I don't have. Can IBS be localized like this, just to the right side? Thanks for any advice.
