Hi. I have Roemheld Syndrome. I just developed it this year. I am an athlete in superb condition. My heart is very healthy. After large meals I have so much gas (epigastric pressure) and my heart begins a bradycardia at about 40 per minute (my normal is 52). Needless to say it is frightening. My doctors don't understand it. If I just hold my breath, thus pushing my diaphragm down for a few secons or more my heart returns to normal. Inducing the gag reflex also cures it. So does physical activity like running. Belching makes it go away, usually. This is scary and frustrating. Anyone have ideas???
