| | 23 year old female: constipation, small bowel movements, bloating
Hello! I am a 23 year old female of average weight and fairly active. I have IBS, and for the last week I've been constipated. My usual symptoms are the opposite (I go too much) and my constipation has been relievable in the past with fiber and laxatives. This time has been different. My stomach feels impacted, almost. Every time I have a movement, I get a very small amount and it's of normal consistency (about 2 stools), but if I try to go more, it just plugs back up! I'm miserably bloated and my pants are tight. I feel like I've gained at least 5 lbs. Yesterday, intercourse was painful because of the bloating and cramping. I've had nearly a half gallon of water in the last 24 hours, laxatives, fiber bars and a large serving of fruit. This morning, I had a movement and thought it was going to be over, but it was the same, small and unrewarding. Hah. Even worse, my appetite is normal, so I keep eating regular meals and I feel like this is making it worse. But not eating is worse, isn't it? Is there anything else I can do? Or do I jusy have to wait? it's never been this bad.
