Not sure if this would be the proper forum, but it is a start.
I have been plagued by these for quite a while, and they only seem to be getting worse. It is an out-of-the-blue giant hiccup. Just one. It basically sounds like I am yelling "hiccup!!". I have zero control over it, and can oly occasionally catch it in time to realize what it is and force my mouth shut to muffle it.
Other disorders are occasional atrial fibrillation attack. What makes me say that is the possibility of hiatial hernia/vagal nerve problems. I have read intensively on Afib, and have always seen vagal nerve come up, and was surprised to see a couple referneces to it being related to these stupid hiccups. I eat well, and drink mostly water and seltzer water. I have not noticed any correlation between seltzer water and it. One of my worst days, with about a dozen of them was today, when I drank only large volumes of water( hot and outside work) and ate very little.
It is horribly embarassing in public, though a laughin matter amongst friends/family.
Any ideas??
