| Ulcer stories, anyone?
Hello everyone, I'm very new on this site.
Does anyone with experience of an untreated peptic or gastric ulcer find that their symptoms changed a lot? I mean, is the pain always in the same place, or there various levels of pain, did you have constantly changing symptoms? Or the place where you feel pain was often different? Did you have daily symptoms?
I have epigastric pinching pains, upper back pain, a mild left-side pinching pain, along with some early fullness and on/off indigestion. It hasn't been any fun so far...some of the worst of it is caused by the anxiety of waiting to get a diagnosis.
I am undergoing an endoscopy in about a month, (feels like a long wait!) I am so anxious for a diagnosis but I'm almost afraid it will be negative. At least ulcers are treatable. Suppose it could be gastritis too...I have consumed a fair number of ibuprofen over the past number of years, sometimes with alcohol. Which wasn't very wise of me, of course. I don't drink at all right now, and I was told by my doc not to take aspirin or ibuprofen.
