My first thought if a cause for the gastroparesis was never identified is that this is either medication induced, if you are still taking a peristalsis stimulator, or you may have autonomic nervous system dysfunction. Those nerves control the peristalsis activity in the gut, and can be sluggish or hyperactive intermittently. Not a lot of Drs are versed in this, but I would start with neurology, peripheral neuropathy, and try to find a doc who specializes in autonomic nervous system dysfunction.
