Can climate affect how you go to the bathroom?

This is an odd question, but I've noticed every time I visit the eastern part of the U.S. I seem to have a much easier time going to the bathroom. I'm not constipated and my stools come out normal like they should. I live in state with very dry, warm/hot weather and back there is seems like when I'm not constipated, stools are always loose and pale colored.
