I can sympathize with you as I just got out of the hospital yesterday. I too have Diverticulitis. I assume they didn't allow anything to go into your stomach for at least a couple of days to give everything a rest. Then progressing from a liquid diet to soft food. It's been about a week now since this all started. By bowels are not at all moving like normal. While in the hospital I had a couple of small loose movements. Today my movement was better; but not normal. As you place more food in bowel movements should slowly return to normal. I hope this helps you some.
