BURPING and no appetite WHAT is it?

My GP says its because I have been battling anxiety for awhile now and that I am swallowing to much air so she told me to take prilosec for 14 days and it did help but not completely. Some days are worse then others

symptoms are chronic burping
stomach feels like its in knots
loss of appetite, have to force food down me
sometimes almost feel a little nauseated but never throw up
no issue eliminating, do that daily, sometimes several xs a day

I am losing weight over this and the anxiety. couldnt even eat a whole meal for Christmas with my family because my stomach hurt so

could someone become lactose intolerant this late in life? I am 54

Re: BURPING and no appetite WHAT is it?

Laineyk, are you on any medications that may be causing these side effects? I agree that a GI doctor is best qualified to determine what is going on inside of you and can get you the answers that you seek. Have you taken Gas-X to relieve the burping? Have you considered protein shakes and fruit shakes to see if you can tolerate them? Some people with sensitive stomachs are able to eat baby cereal and baby food until they can graduate to more solid foods.
