Severe and PAINFUL Esophageal Spasms -- Help please!!!

Hello everybody,

I have been having severe and painful esophageal spasms for the last year and a half. I have tried all of the OTC medications for acid reduction, and have come to the conclusion that it has absolutely no relation to my stomach acids. None of the food or drink I have ever affects me; I can eat pizza, ham with extra salt, drink beer or alcohol, and feel fine the next day. The spasms happen once every so many days (anywhere from 2 - 7), without fail. I've also tried eating bland, had nothing more than oatmeal and things like that, and it didn't change.

It feels as though someone has grabbed hold of my esophagus and is squeezing tightly. Some days it's not bad, and the spasms are mild, not making me do much more then exhale some air. But some days it's so bad that I can't eat anything, because it'll spasm as soon as it gets near the "sensitive area," and since the food is there, it's 5 times worse. I also (occasionally) get a "lump" in my throat. Not too often for the latter though.

I worked in a machine shop where the employer would dump bleach into the machine's coolant tank in order to kill the smell. Little did any of us know, mixing bleach with this kind of coolant resulted in a chemical reaction, causing chlorine (in a gas form) to be released. I inhaled it for a period of 9 months or so, until we finally managed to get him to stop.

I believe there is an open sore on my esophagus, and the chlorine is causing it to not heal. If there are any homeopathic remedies I could try, I would be greatly interested and appreciative!!!!

Thank you

The doctor says that they can't tell me anything without going to a specialist and getting an endoscopy. Unfortunately, my financial situation doesn't allow that. Neither my employer nor my wife's offers health insurance, and getting a plan myself isn't feasible either.

Somehow you need to get this investigated and I agree with your Drs reccomendation.
I have had four Endoscopy's and it is always wise to get this sorted especially as over the counter medication is not helping you.
I myself have taken PPI's for my stomach problem and the only Natural product I have heard of but have Not tried is Activated-Charcoal which you can buy from your Health-Shop. Some reccomend Bicarbonate Of Soda.
Personally if I was you I would follow your Drs advice. Good Luck,

Solofelix.

Hi,
It helps to Detoxify bad substances in the stomach and digestive track.
If you look up Activated-Charcoal online you will see if it might help
your condition.
Must be purchased from a health-shop, definitely NOT Barbecue Charcoal.

Solofelix.

Re: Severe and PAINFUL Esophageal Spasms -- Help please!!!

I have motility issues and esoph spasms too that come and go. Sometimes for a few weeks then they are gone for another month, then back again. Certain foods do seem to trigger a little more than others, especially dry sticky stuff like a gob of peanut butter.

I haven't found a way to manage it yet either. But sending good vibes your way!
