inflammation and a yeast my stomach?!

I had an upper endoscopy done and I got the results back which said inflammation in my esophagus which may be due to a yeast infection! I had no idea this was possible, my follow up isn't until next month but until then I've been prescribed Diflucan - has anyone heard of this and if so what can I do to help the medication? I do remember when I first started having stomach pain - which has been ongoing for 4 years, I was taking antibiotics. Then I tried kombucha tea which made things worse. If yeast is the cause then that will really explain things, thanks in advance for any advice you may have
