Unexplained abdominal pain. help!

Hello board,
I am posting this as a last ditch effort to calm my nerves and clear up my confusion.
I'm 21, otherwise healthy and athletic.
I have been experiencing the same abdominal pain, beginning just below the rib cage from the middle to the right side for over 4 months now. Interestingly, I can only vaguely feel it without contact. However, if i press into my abdomen using 2 fingers, i can feel a sore aching pain that radiates around the central-right side upper abdomen. I have also had a pain on the right side of my back that has started a little over 2 months ago.
Otherwise, I have been feeling a little under the weather as well but I can't say that it's definitively related. A minor decrease in appetite has also accompanied the pain. Another interesting tidbit is that when I am seated, pressing into my abdomen does not trigger the pain, but when I stand up and expand my stomach, i clearly feel the pain.
My bowel movements have been irregular, sometimes I'm constipated, other times my stools are pale, they sometimes let out little bubbles, and they can be soft and mushy, or broken.
My doctor gave me pantoloc for acid reflux, i've been taking this for 6 weeks and it has done nothing. When i couldn't hack it anymore I went to the ER and had an abdominal ultrasound, showing no problems with my gallbladder, pancreas or liver. Chest x-ray indicates completely normal lungs. Bloods are apparently normal. No significant weight loss to be noted. I was diagnosed with EBV (mono) in august if that can help in any way.
Please help , any input would be greatly appreciated

Re: Unexplained abdominal pain. help!

You have been seeing doctors so that's a good thing. Keep pressing them. Mono can take months and months before it goes away...and from what I've read, abdominal pain is a common symptom. Perhaps your mono is lingering and that's all it is.

Re: Unexplained abdominal pain. help!

Thank you for your reply! I truly appreciate it. So I have an appt with a GI specialist Monday, hopefully that'll sort things out. I always had a feeling it may still be mono but at the same time I have my doubts. As usual though, I'm just terrified about the worst :P.
Thanks!
