I have a issue with my chest area for about 2 months. I can feel a gas thump in the middle of my chest. when i bend over or chin down (look down) over and getting heart flips or flutters that only last for one second.I also get this if I slouch down while sitting and once I look up, that "flip" or electric jolt feel wil appear !!!
I don have heartburn , no pain or other gerd classic symptoms. I went to the doc n was given medi for gerd n gastritis. My digestion improve but that annoying feeling did not go away !!! I felt the burbles in my esophagus that seems like one second vibrations or flutters n sometimes gives me an urge to cough.
I feel best when laying down on bed n never felt it when laying flat.
Can someone pls advise me what this is actually?!!! I'm soooo worried and can't seem to lead a normal life with all this in my head!!! It has drained my life away...
You are experiencing the same exact thing I went through. where you cannot tell if it is gas or your heart ? Everytime mine does it I have to cough . Bending over triggers it and also a full stomach does as well. I was in and out of the hospital thinking I was dying. The last time I went was because I started with the flutter feeling and what happened is it did not stop and my heart kept racing with that for about half an hour. Finally saw a cardiologist and what I can tell you is it is NOT serious. He told me anything having to do with your heart as long as you dont get pain , pass out , cant breathe , it is not something that is considered dangerous. The way he explained it to me was my heart was " misfiring" sending it into a type of fibrillation. I had what you are experiencing so many times a day and then after about a year it turned into the flutters lasting longer. The coughing or burping actually restarts it back to normal rhythm. It DOES however have a link to digestion and your vagal nerve. I noticed like I said before that if I had eaten and bent over it happened more often. I started taking GERD medication and it helped a lot . All I can say is it would not hurt to go and get checked out but from my experience though extremely scary , it will not kill you. I have learned the less anxiety I have over it , the less I think about it , the less I have them and I hardly have any now .
