| Gut Flora
Hello all,
I had about three days worth of antibiotics that I finished three days ago and since then I've been experiencing near constant heartburn. A reply to my thread on the GERD board said it's due to the antibiotics killing off the good bacteria in my system.
I do have acid reflux; I was diagnosed with it two months ago and have been taking Nexium 20 mg everyday. After the antibiotics, I have upped my dosage to 20 mg 2x day and it hasn't helped much. I feel a burning sensation in my sternum and I wake up with an acidic taste in my mouth every morning.
If this truly is from a flora imbalance, then how long will it take for the good bacteria to repopulate? Thanks for reading.
