Financial help for amputees

Hi, I've been an below the knee amputee for a while now. When I was younger I used to be a Shriners patient. Now that I'm of age and out on my own I had to get a new prosthesis, and even with my insurance it is quite expensive. I was wondering where I could turn for financial help for this. I'm not really disabled, I'm able to work and walk and run, but this medical cost is seriously hurting me. Are there any government agencies? Where can I turn?

Thankyou

Harley

Re: Financial help for amputees

I really think that your best bet would be to ask this question of the prosthetic companies that you have availiable near you.they would most likely be aware of any types of programs that are availiable as they would have to be paid by them.Hope you can find some kind of help so you can be mobile again.Marcia
