SSi hearing postponed? - Disabilities Message Board

Hi I went to my hearing on friday and was told the judge postponed the hearing after reading the medical records. Apparently he did not feel he would have been able to deny and wants a vocational specalist there.

Im confused it sounds like they want to set it up to deny even though there is good medical evidence to support disability. Has this ever happened to anyone? is it that a judge just needs the option to deny?

I'ts possible they feel that you cannot be denied. I know in my case I was all set for the medical for ssdi my att. breafed me the whole 9 yards and 2 days before my att called to say they cancled after reading my medicals. I found the key to be having everything documented all tests and X-Rays. I was awarded SSDI on the frist try, my att said he never had that happen. (guess I'm damaged more than i thought lol) I have a good sense of humor about it tho.

Hi Paper,

Sorry your hearing was postponed. They had a vocational specialist at my hearing (actually he was a MD) -- he actually ended up testifying on my behalf. Maybe this is a good sign. Maybe the judge wants him there to say there is no work you can do.

I was really worried about my hearing as I had been denied 3 times. Everything went my way and the judge agreed that I could not work.

once you have a hearing is that the end of it, no appeals after a hearing? I just cant believe I waited all this time and now its postponed cause my evidence was, according to them, "too good to do with out a vocational" person there. Weird.
