need information - Disabilities Message Board

I am new to this board, so first i would like to say hello to everyone. i do hope i can get a answer to my questions here. Its been a tough road for me i applied for ssi ssd about 2yrs ago and 5 weeks ago i recieved a letter stating may 3rd is your court date wow i was amazed then about 3 weeks ago my lawyer called and said guess what they is no need to go to court the judge ruled in your favor so congrates. wow agian i was very happy,so its been about 3 weeks since i talked to my lawyer the excitement has gone away as i am forced to wait agian. sorry so long ...i have been online checking to see how long it takes to get a favorible letter in the mail and a award letter, because yet agian i am forced to wait.I got despriate enough to call ssa and i was told by them to call back in a month or 2 because the computer says i haven't been to trial yet and has not been updated with my decision i would like to know how long it takes to recieve a letter in the mail with the decision how much longer do i have to wait as with alot of you i am in limbo have not seen my doc for awhile because i can't afford it any info would be appreciated i live in florida thanks

Check your bank acct to see if they deposited a check already.They do this without any real warning or sending any sort of reciept.It's kjust "there" one day.I got my first check three days after I recieved a phone call from someone at ssa asking me questions about my son and benefits.I had to ask him,does this mean I have been approved then?and i was told yes it was approved about two days ago.I was shocked but quite overjoyed.my first check was deposited by the end of that week.I did not get ANYTHING from ssa saying anything about being approved until about a month later.Congrats!!marcia

congrates and thank you its nice to no the people who really need it get approved even if it takes forever.unfortunetly due to circumstance i do not have a bank account at this time so i will be waiting for it to come in the mail i talked to my lawyer yestur day she told me lol not to freak out it will come. she said it take a month or to to get the writen decision and then another month or 2 to start get payments, all this waiting in limbo stinks but it is what it is. atleast i was approved for ssi and ssd so things are good

Hi,

Just wanted to tell you it may take a few months. I was approved November 5 and got my back ss first in February. I got my first regular check in April.
