Hi,

I was wondering do anyone knows how long does it take to get a decision on your SSI and SSDI. I have filed for SSI and SSDI November 2004. It is still pending as of today. why is it taking so long? Thanks Beegie

They tell you it usually takes 3-6 months for a decision for SSDI. In SC, you know whether or not you qualify for SSI the day of the phone interview for SSDI. Things may take longer depending on where you live and if the SSA doesn't feel like they have enough information on your case. Also submitting new evidence every few weeks can delay things - at least that's what we were told by my husband's case manager.

I am from Georgia and i live in the stone mountain area and I have applied for both SSI and SSDI back in November 2004 and now is June 2005 it is still pending. Is that good or bad. It has been 7 months. I call my adjucator who is working on my claim. She says they have been back log and they are working on my case and I should hear something soon. she says it can go anyway so don't get my hopes. I been praying and hoping things will work out. I just have to have faith it will.

I think it all depends on what state you are in ?? I could be wrong.
I'm in Wisconsin , I applied in October of 2004 and was awarded
in Feb of this year (2005)....so that was fast I think..

I guess if I were you - I would call- I done that a few times just to see
what was going on and they don't mind if you call-or they don't here anyway..

Do you have a lawyer? It's the best route, It took me 18 months to get a HEARING DATE, another 3 months to wait for the date, now it's been 4 months and no response yet. What a joke.
