I have been on Long Term Disability for almost a year now. I was gonna try and find a job i can do on part time. I know my disability check would be cut done, what if i took the job and after being hired on there and work lets say a month, then due to my health problem i cannot do the work there will my check be back to the same amount as it was before ? I hope i am making sense here. I just really get down in the dumps for sitting here and not being able to go back to work and have good money coming in and health insurance.My check from LTD might run out next July.Maybe not.. Not sure how that goes.

First...is your condition ever going to improve??? Can you ever return to working fulltime???
If the answer to those questions are yes then I would take the time that you have to heal and just heal.. don't try to push going back to work only to reinjury or delay your recovery.
Now if you answered no then you need to relook at your life....If your LTD is going to end then you need to think about how will you support yourself???When does it end..what benefits will you still have..should you apply for SSDI etc...
I can understand being down in the dumps...been there...but there is so much out there in life to enjoy.....just think of it as an extended vacation...
Check out how your LTD insurance carrier handles working PT before you even think about going to work PT....you may lose your benefit check entirely.

CountryKid i do agree with everything you have said.I was thinking about getting a part time job but i am in so much pain i dont think i can do anything right now.
I have NO health insurance, lost that when they let me go at my job from being out of work so long, i used up all my vacation time and all.
I don't know if my condition is gonna improve because they really don't know whats going on. I have had MRI'S and X rays and test and they still don't know.
Everytime i do go to the doctor i have to pay for the bills out of my own pocket and my medician too.
There has got to be some help out there for me as for as medicial bills so i can find out whats wrong.
They say my LTD will run out in 2007 if my condition does get better.Really don't know for sure.

I would say apply for SSDI right now.
Medical...see if you are eligible for any medical assistance from your county...Also drug companies have programs for free drugs if you qualify. Alot has do with your income level and assests.
There are resources out there you just have to do some phone calls and research.

Hello All I did go to the SSDI company today and they made me an appointment for July 10. I hope it wont take forever like i hear on here so often.
