Question Sent to SS Dr question

My grandson (I raised him) has chronic lyme & fibromyalgia, has port in chest for IV. This is the 3rd SS Dr they sent him to, it's been 15mo now. This dr did put totally disabled & unable to work. He is 14 & although some of his friends do work P/T. Will they say, well he is unable to work but he's too young anyway. Just wondering if anyone knows?

Your Grandson should still be able to get Social Security Disability shouldn't he? I had a niece & nephew who were both deaf and they've been getting SSI since they were in elementary school, maybe before. He should certainly be entitled to something because of the disabilities. Good Luck.

Like Jill said.....Be their for him know that your their for him and always will be. Give him courage when hes done. Always carry a smile on your face. Like Jill Iam young too and Iam 15 just trying to make a differnace to people with advice. Its relly hard living with someone that has a disablity but Its also amazing becasue every day of their life they are teaching something new. It may not be useful but its something new that youve learned. Be their for him and I hope that everything workds out god bless you and your grandson
love always

I'm sorry it took me so long to reply, I've been sick. Thank you for your kind words & I do try & encourage him in all ways. He's great never gets mad or upset just do what he has to do. I don't want him on SS very long he wants to work eventually & so do I. We would use the money for a treatment that can help him that I can't afford. He's a great kid doesn't drug, drink or smoke & stays out of trouble, You kids sound the same way reaching out to help others. God bless you!
