Disability and chronic pain - Disabilities Message Board

I heard that you have to have chronic pain with your
impairment in order to get ssd,could someone tell me if this is true? i have a herinated disk,ddd,spinal stenosis and spondylolthesis. i hurt everyday. God Bless.

What do you call chronic pain?

The only way you will know if you can get SSD is to file. I tried on my own. Pain was so bad, I had alsup inc do all the work.

I taught school for 18 years in braces on both legs but when I was diagnosed with Post-Polio Syndrome, I decided to give it up & take care of what I had left.
I called the SS office & they mailed me the info package. When I mailed all the info. back in, I received a call one month later saying that I had been accepted for SSD. I was shocked. My Dr. told me that he had a patient, paralyzed from the neck down, that was denied. Now my teacher retirement was another thing. They fought me for 6 months before accepting me into the retirement system.

In march i was diagnosed with scheuermanns disease, it has caused me a great deal of pain, and loss of energy, some days i can hardly move. My legs get very weak and i cannot stand on my left leg for very long. I am only 19 and I have had to defer uni and work for now. It is very depressing and i really need to hear from other people who suffer this, its a very lonely world!
