Getting ssa and ssi benefits - Disabilities Message Board

To all of you who responded to my message. Last week saturday I recieved word from the judge saying he approved my benefits for ssa and ssi. I applied on april 1, 2000, and it took me this length of time to get word. One of you mentioned in your'e message back to me, that a person gets only back pay or benefits from only one year back, that is not true. I will be getting benefits for 3 years. also another person mentioned I should have a lawyer, that is not true either. I never had one. I went to my hearing by myself, I just told the judge how my sickness is, and how I can't work anymore. I wish I could work, there's nothing more rewarding than contributing to society. But last summer, August 2001, I had a pulmanary imbolism, and had to have a vena cava filter placed in me. Otherwise, I would of died that day. I just want to wish you the best of Luck. But, I want to share with you, God, the Lord Jesus Christ can help all of you. He can see you through this time. His purpose is always filled. Give this social security problem to the Lord, and he will have things open up for you. God Bless You, and best of Luck.

Hi SAndra,
I had a lung embolism in January said I would of died had I not gotten myself to the hospital. Then It was a 14 hour wait. What is a vena cava filter. I am on cumaden now since Jan and it has now made me anemic.
No greens when on Coumaden,
How are you feeling now ?

I assume you mean SSDI and SSI benefits? Congratulations (SSA=Social Security Administration. SSDI=Social Security Disability Insurance. SSI=Supplemental Security Income)
