| Re: Disability - when?
Hi, I know it has been a while since you posted your situation, but I hope you will still check for a response from time to time. You said you had surgery on your legs. What was the surgery for? And the tailbone pain....I have that too! I broke my tailbone several times. Nothing has helped that area of pain except an ice pack directly on it to numb it. The problem with my legs is that they feel frozen cold. I call this "frozen bone" I wrote about this problem under the fibromyalgia thread and I have not had any response yet. I have to keep my tailbone cold and my legs wrapped up to keep warm. I was just wondering what all your symptoms are. As far as filing for disability, good luck with that. The problem is that it takes so long to get approved you will probably get it around the time you would have retired anyway. With disability, you cannot be working. The date you "became" disabled will be 6 months from the date that you stopped working due to your pain. During that 6 months, you will have no income coming in, and disability will not ever pay you for that 6 month waiting period. Stinks huh! I hope I have helped you in your question about going on disability or waiting until retirement. Please let me know what your symptoms are. I am desperate to find someone who is going through simular pain as me.
Kindly Yours,
Kari
