The MONTH of my hearing is finally here... - Disabilities Message Board

ok I feel like I waited forever for August to finally come. My hearing is August 28th. So sad that I wanted to rush this summer along but I also want to rush August along so my hearing date is finally here. Ok my question is .... WHEN CAN I BREATHE ?? I am not breathing already and I have almost 4 weeks to feel like this...... I am so so nervous, I have no idea what to expect. My doctors have all said they apsolutely want for me to have a favorable decision and will say and do all that is needed. They also said they know my lawyer and all the judges and my doctor said the judge will call him to discuss the papers the doctor filled out and he will say exactly what is needed for me to 'win'. That all sounds so promising however I dont' want to get too build up. I feel like my life (and that of my family esp my poor hubby who is working 2 full time jobs now)is all in the hands of one Judge !! I am so nervous. Please bare with me this month for I get some relief posting and replying to my 'friends' here. So the count down is on til the hearing and then I know after it is over I will be waiting for quite some time again......... GRRRR How will I ever be able to make it through it all ?? I have no known mental problems as of now but I think I may develop them because of all this......... thanks for reading my post and hugs to all

I know what you mean. I have been waiting for so long, then my hearing was last week and now I am waiting again. This is the worst wait of all for my anyway. I was nervous as anything before the haring, my lowyer did say he felt pretty optimistic about the hearing. He said I was very consistant with all the evidence they have.
It sounds like you have your hearing in the bag. Good luck to you. With any luck I wont have to wait to long for a fully faverable decision.

I know what you mean, my ALJ in Harrisburg is this Monday(8/6/07),I have a little different case my surgeon told my that my fusion was loking good but the surgery didn't work and now in more pain then before. What happen to my back is that after the fussion the above disc shifted L4&L3, nerve damage . Surgeon told me that no new surgerys would help fix the problem right now and there is nothing more he can do and sent me to pain management to help with pain and said I can no longer work and needed to file for disability and he would fill out any paper work I needed to win my case, thats a joke all he did was send my lawyer half my records and reports and had to hound and threaten them for the records ands his notes for the last visits I had with him.Then all my lawyer wanted was a written report with his opinion that will help win my case. I guess if they can't bill you and get your money they won't do nothing for free.But lawyer says we have a good judge(his approval rate for people with failed surgerys is high)so we will see in 4 days. good luck in your case and hope we all win

Thanks for replying Jamie !! Actually our situations are alittle similiar. I also had a fusion on L5 S1. The fusion was a success and went back to a normal life without pain for 6 years. What the problem is now is the disc above the fusion is 'going away' and I lost all cartilidge in my pelvis. I feel (and may family agrees) this is all a result of having such a serious spinal fusion. My surgeon said above my old fusion I need fusion again and also in my pelvis but he said I should never ever have another fusion ever because it is causing this ripple effect. So I also am 'stuck' with a lifetime of constant pain and their only advice is to live on pain relief. My surgeon did sign a paper saying what my problems are and how I am never a candidate for another surgery and my regular doctor signed excellant papers saying my life is forever altered and will never be painfree. With all this, you and I still have to 'fight' to get SS and possibly will be turned down. Somewhere there has to be a light at the end of our dark tunnels if not just a little help financially........... GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND ALL ....take-care
