Hello, everyone...I got my letter from the ALJ office today FULLY FAVORABLE! What is next? I mean most say 6 weeks for anything, I was only in the hearing 2 weeks ago! So does this sound like I will have something sooner? Anyone? Thanks
Re: SSDI and SSI FULLY FAVORABLE letter questions?
I was given verbal decision on 6/20 and on 6/27 official decision was mailed out. Talked to SSA in early Aug and was told you usually get your monthly checks started within 60 days of receiving a letter stating exactly what your monthly benefit will be & how much is the back pay award and how much they withhold for the atty. And they also said it is usually 60 days from when monthly checks start until you receive your back pay.
However, after I got my decision, I visited the office of a local congressman. They did an inquiry on my record and I think it sped things up a bunch. I received my back pay on 9/6/07 and will be receiving my first regular check this month.
Re: SSDI and SSI FULLY FAVORABLE letter questions?
Ok update, I received a letter from my local SSA that said " I am approved for SSI, but I have to come in or phone " I spoke with a lady over the phone and she got all my kids info and asked how much money has came in blah blah and when did I last work. Something came up saying that I last done some work in the early part of this year. I dont remember anything but I done alot of online telemarketing off and on and stuff trying to make some money, but I denied it because I dont remember making anything worth reporting. They also told me that they were mailing out papers telling me what they needed and I would have to sign it and mail it back. I dont know what they need though any ideas??? I also wonder how much longer til' I start getting some money? Any help?? Is this standard? When I filed for SSDI and SSI my wofe done it for me online and I never meet with anyone at SSA..Is this common? Thanks everyone.
