Upset with my lawyer

I called my lawyer and always talk to a legal assistant.
She is nice but not very assertive for me.
She told me that the lawyer was too busy to finish up with my file at the moment.
The SS office wants to try to do an On The Record for me and are waiting for him to call so they can discuss it.
I wonder what they would discuss, does anyone know ?
The legal assistant told me a few weeks ago she would tell him he needs to please take care of it for me instead of letting my file just sit there.
I told her that if the SS wants to finish it up he needs to do it so my file doesn't get lost.
I have been waiting for the last few weeks to hear from them and I didn't so I have been calling every day now.
I told her my depression is getting worse than it ever has and my illnesses are getting worse too so she put my file in the lawyer's chair so he would be sure to see it the next day when he got in.
It's kinda funny she told me she put it in his chair because I was fixing to tell her I didn't want him to just "sit on my file" LOL
I called the next day to make sure he saw my file and she said yes.
It should be coming to an end soon I hope.
It has changed to SSI instead of SSD. I wonder if that is because it has taken so long.
In the meantime, I went to the church again today as I have been going once a month for a free box of food.
I have met the nicest people in similar situations at that church but most of them get their SSD or SSI.
I use to be embarrassed to get free food but now it's necessity.
Thanks for listening.

Re: Upset with my lawyer

deltaelise: So sorry that to hear that you are going through so much right now. I do know how you feel. I to have lost my car and had to file bankruptcy just didn't have the money to paid the bills I had. Its really sad what they do to us and how we are treated. I finally got my SSD after a 4 year battle. Still waiting on my back pay tho. God bless you, my church has helped me out alot. Never be to proud to except handouts because we all know that if we have it then we are always willing to help others.

Hi Delta: IMy lawyer asked for an on the record and it was denied. So we now are going to court on March 11th. I think the judge just looks at what is in your file. I am so scared now. What is this judge going to get from seeing me. I have a new letter from my Psych Doc and my therapist. I hope those help. I was so hoping I would get that decision. Hope you get your.
Thinking of you,
Jeane
