New complication should I tell them?

Well with all my back problems my leg went numb on Friday I fell and broke my wrist? Do you think it will matter to SS? I am in the reconsideration phase.
Thanks Cindy

Re: New complication should I tell them?

I think you should tell them and I'll tell you why...

Dh had some other serious issues develop during the middle of his application process and I called his SSA claim rep and asked if I should send the reports that dh received over the past few days. Her response was that I didn't need to, they already knew he was in a lot of pain and it would just slow down the process. Know what that process was? DENIAL! If I had insisted on sending them the newest dr. reports, it would have supported his position even further. If it delays the process for you, that won't be as big of a delay as if you had to go through another appeal. That's the way I feel about it. Maybe someone else can show you a different perspective. Best of luck to you!

Oh, and I am so sorry you broke your wrist. That really stinks.

Re: New complication should I tell them?

If there are any changes or new procedures, operations, or diagnosis get copies of the report and send them in yourself. The more information supporting your disability the better.

Wink Re: New complication should I tell them?

I agree with everyone else, I had new information between my last denial and my hearing date with the judge. I don't know if that is what made the difference, but the judge approved my case, right away. In his notes to the SS office, he said that the reason he was overturning their decision to deny me, was becasue of new information.

Good luck and I hope your wrist is feeling better soon.
Lorie
