Workman's Comp/spine surgery and ....

I have no idea how to word this so I will try. I have had 2 spine surgeries (cervical) and on Monday am having a third. I have long term Chronic Pain and Fibromyalgia now from it. I am wondering who went for disability either work related or SSDI? And what was your prognosis and decision?

I will no be looking into SSDI as I have a private pension but still have to face multiple doctors and lots of paperwork to be approved or denied. I am really scared of the process and scared of being denied. I do not have that much time saved up and will exhaust it all the time i have and not be paid for anything over my time. I just am so tired and so sore and so worn down from years of this and all the medications that I just need a break. My spine doctor suggested retirement years ago. Wish it was that easy though.

Re: Workman's Comp/spine surgery and ....

I collect ssd and w/c together.. If you file for SSD please gather all your information about your case.. Get Everything , even your pysical therapy reports gathered up to send into SS. The more you have the better off you'll be.. Their gonna want to know every Dr. that treated you. Make sure you tell them every medication you take and what and how it makes you feel.. ( tired /dizzy/ mad/ depressed / ect,.ect.. the more you write the better it will help you. I was approved the first time I applied .. AND if your denied get yourself an attorney and re-apply .. I was told NOT to get an attorney until I was disaproved twice . This way you won't owe any money to an attorney .
My backpay was $26.000.000 but I only got $13,000.00 since I was on workers comp , but any money I got helped .. Good luck
