I think this is good....

On Thursday we got a call from Chief of Quality Control from the Disability determination. (this was b/c the 800 gave us the run around so I called my husbands adjudicator) She said that my husbands case was just finished from quality control and he was social security medically approved and his case was electronically sent to our local office. We called the local office prior to this phone call and they didn't know anything yet but she told us it could take a day or 2 for them to scan it. ( I already know that non-medical was already done b/c our local office told us a few weeks ago that his case was ready to go if he won.)
His onset date was 2/01/07 (even though he hasn't worked in over 4 years but beggerss can't be choosers) so if anyone knows what this means as to payments please advise b/c I am so confused.

Also I was told by our local office that if he was approved that they would sent us a letter to apply for myself and our kids. Can we just show up at our local office with their birth certificates and tell them we know it was sent there b/c we desperatley need $ asap. We are already set up for direct deposit and we didn't apply for SSI so I don't see a very long hold up but any feed back would be appreciated. Hopefully this is the end.

Hi Glasson,

Yes, this is GREAT news! When SSA stated that your hubby's onset date is 02/07...you count the 5 month non pay which is March-July, 07, then his backpay would start from August 07-July 08, which is about 11 months. You'll receive a sizeable retro backpay!! Praise God!! Your kids also will receive a retro, once all the info is received. Its a wise idea, to walk in the local office, and show them the required papers for your kids. This may expedite the process quicker!!!! Congratulations, and God Bless.

Vergie
