I don't know what the usual experience is, but my exam seemed very appropriate time-wise and content-wise. My disability is epilepsy so the doctor spent a few minutes checking neurological things like reflexes. But the majority of the exam was really just him asking me a lot of questions about my seizures and how they affect me. It was actually a strangely positive experience for me. I wish everyone could leave these CE exams feeling as "listened to" as I did.
