my husband filed for disability in 2005. was denied. appealed and had hearing. was denied. appealed again. it has been at the appeals office since November 2007. How much longer before we hear something?

I would be asking my lawyer to find out or you could call the office of hearings and appeals in your area to find out something.
yes, we have a lawyer. when i asked them, they said we just have to wait. this is ridiculous. i am really surprised my husband has even made it this long. i think that is what they hope for, death. then they don't have to pay nothing. i'm really getting p'd off.
Have you contacted your local Congressman ?
If not, you can call them and explain everything and they will contact SS in your behalf as they do for many.
yes. i contacted them. they sent the same form letter they send for everyone else, stating they want to know what to be notified of any changes and decisions, etc. it didn't help.
got the letter today!!! we filed in oct 2005. they said he would be approved starting dec 2006. they said that is when the cirrhosis got bad. they did not approve for his hip replacement. they are giving us 30 days to fight that decision, which i am afraid to fight any more. it would just take longer if we do. i am so tired of fighting these people so we are not fighting any more. just wanted everyone to know.
