What is the time period between STD to LTD
I was placed on STD on April 14, 2008 My STD policy states that I will receive it for (6) months and then my LTD kicks in. I received a letter last week from the company saying that they and Metlife will be placing me on LTD by the end of August. Also, my medical/dental/vision will expire at that time as well. Can they do this? My STD policy states I will received 100% of my pay until my LTD kicks in. What is the law?

The way my disability from works i got the STD then as soon as my STD ran out then LDT kicked it. I recieved my LTD for 2 years then they cut it off.But before my STD stopped i applied for LTD. Sometimes it takes a while to see if you can get it. I was lucky and was able to get it as soon as my STD stopped.

By the way my health insurance stopped as soon as i stopped recieving my STD. You can get insurance through Cobra but its very expensive.
So i have no health insurance right now, i applied for SSDI but have been denied. I need 2 surgeries, back surgery and Carpel Tunnel in both wrists.

Yes i have applied for medicaid and they said i could not get it because i am not disabilied. Yes i am DISABLED !!
