Unhappy SSDI and SSI
Hello.. I was wondering what takes the longest to recieve, SSI or SSDI ? I applied for SSDI and SSI in March of this year and was denied for both. I have a lawyer now and he put in for my appeal.

SSI is immediate, but you not only got to meet the medical disability, but you got to show financial need. If you're married and your husband is working you probably won't get it, if you have over the allowed bank amount you won't get it, It is basically to tide you over till you SSDI, that there is a 5 month waiting period for. You will get nothing but SSI if you haven't got enough work credits paid into the system to get SSDI.

Hello, Thanks for such a quick reply. I have worked since i was 15 years old. Now i am 45.I am not married and live with my father, he recieves his SS check and thats it.I have $3.00 in the bank. lol
So maybe i can recieve it then. Except they say i am not disabled. Yes i am disabled, i have not worked since 2005.
