hey! new here, question about backpay! please help - Disabilities Message Board

Hey all! First of all, this forum looks really helpful so I am so glad I stumbled upon it!

Now to my question. My husband got a 4k disability check sent out to him on the 17th of this month and we haven't recieved it yet. We had it mailed to us because we at the time don't have a bank account. My question is when do you think it will get here to us? Social Security office said 10-12 days but as we are needing the money quiet badly, I just need to know what you all think. It gets stressful checking the mailbox and it not being there every day lol.
We live in Tennesse if that helps. Johnson City to be exact. I dont even know where it was mailed off from either. I just know for a fact they mailed out his lawyers 1,112.00 check on the 17th and mailed out his 4k one on the same day. Any help would be a blessing. thanks all

Hi I know the feeling about waiting. SS told you 10-12 days, if it was sent out on the 17th of this month, it should be here this week, maybe friday. Course with the holidays, it may be a little later, US mail you know how that goes. Make sure SS has your correct mailing address. I finally won my case after 6 years, so I am waiting for money as well. I did go to SS and checked on what address they had, they did not have my current address, so its worth checking into. Hi I am from Jonesborough Tennessee, although I have not recieved my backpay yet, I have been waiting since July, They told me it is at the Baltimore payment processing center, I am assuming yours is at the same processing center since we are in the same district. I was wondering how long have you been waiting, when did he get approved and when did he get his first monthly check?

10-12 days can mean 10-12 business days. So check every day and if you don't have it within 15 work days then contact them again. Keep in mind the Thanksgiving holiday delays stuff a bit.
