You stated you were approved for SSDI AND SSI. You can receive Workers’ Compensation and Social Security Disability at the same time, up to a combined benefit of 80% of the income you were earning before you became disabled.
Once they settle your work comp case, your SSDI won't have to coordinate with work comp any more and you will receive the benefit approved for as if work comp doesn't exist. You wouldn't have to file again.
SSI is bascially for the lower income bracket. I dont' know how much your SSDI benefit is and if you would fall into that lower income bracket. You can discuss that with your local SS office.
